5th SECTION
Increasing scientific evidence suggest that consciousness is not solely caused by our physical brains. This evidence sets the stage for us to better appreciate how rare and valuable is the scientific data in the case of my Sanskrit speaking patient which we will examine in great detail in coming posts. In this post, cardiologist Pim van Lommel M.D. from the Netherlands reports on the literature and his work on near death experience (see link below for his full talk). He describes cases of patients experiencing expanded states of consciousness and out of body experiences while undergoing cardiac resuscitation. Because brain function of many of these patients is severely compromised, these findings suggest that consciousness is not solely caused by our physical brains.

THE IMPORTANCE This case has great meaning for science. It opens the way for science to more seriously examine the “miracles” and love of Sai Baba and the great potential for human limited consciousness to expand and merge into infinite consciousness. This case opens a path for science to realize our potential for a pure inner love that can overcome suffering and bring peace.
